Recent Developments in Our Mission

All the details resulting from our visit in January have been completed. We added tanks, installed new meters, and improved fencing. These upgrades ensure that our efforts are sustainable and effective.

This year, we have managed to reach four new villages, thanks to generous donors and our own income from framing. Providing clean water is a crucial step toward improving health and well-being.

Meet the New Villages

Our new village, Sami Essau, is near Barra. It has a population of about 1,500 people. Along with Sami Essau, we have three other villages: Bantanto (1,200 people), Mboyeen Dara (1,500 people), and Bansang (1,000 people). These villages are located further up the river and require a 3.5-hour drive from Brikama. They are also close to Georgetown, as indicated by the blue arrow on the map.

While this remote location increases transport costs, our local guide Neneh emphasized that these villages are in even greater need of clean water than those nearer to major transport routes.

The Impact of Our Work

To date, we have completed work in a total of 17 villages. This means that 20,000 Gambians now have access to clean water. Access to clean water significantly impacts health, education, and economic opportunities. Villagers have expressed their gratitude through heartfelt letters. Many have shared how clean water is transforming their daily lives.

Yet, we still have much work ahead. A long list of villages remains without clean water. Each village we reach represents a step towards a healthier future for thousands.

Acknowledging Our Supporters

The letters from the villagers express a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated or contributed to this initiative. Your support has made a significant difference.

As we continue this journey, we urge everyone to join us in spreading awareness. Together, we can ensure that every village has access to clean water. With combined efforts, we can overcome the challenges that lie ahead.

The Road Ahead

The path forward is filled with both challenges and opportunities. Every donation allows us to expand our reach and improve more lives.

By supporting this mission, you play a vital role in transforming communities. We hope that you will help us spread the word.

Conclusion

In conclusion, our ongoing mission in The Gambia is focused on increasing access to clean water. Every step forward is a testament to the power of community support. Clean water is not just a resource; it is a human right.
